CARBON-OPS is a UK project which aims to develop an automated supply chain of ocean surface and atmospheric carbon dioxide
measurements from selected UK research ships to operational end users.
- CLIWOC
The Climatological Database for the World's Oceans provides oceanic climate data for the period 1750-1850. These data are extracted from log books and documentary sources from European countries (Spain, Britain, Holland, and France.
- GO-SHIP
The Global Ocean Ship-based Repeat Hydrographic Investigations Program (GO-SHIP) was developed to provide a sustained coordination mechanism for global repeat hydrography as outlined in the GO-SHIP strategy [PDF]. New in 2010 is the GO-SHIP Repeat Hydrography Manual: A Collection of Expert Reports and Guidelines.
- GOSUD
The Global Ocean Surface Underway Data pilot project aims to collect, process, archive, and disseminate sea surface salinity and other underway ocean observations. Data are provided in both real time and delayed mode and have undergone quality evaluation.
- HiWASE
The High Wind Air-Sea Exchanges (HiWASE) project is a UK contribution to SOLAS. The project aim is to make direct measurements of the turbulent air-sea fluxes of heat, momentum, and carbon dioxide to improve the parameterization of these fluxes in terms of mean meteorological and sea-state variables.

The CLIVAR and carbon hydrographic data office is a repository and distribution center for CTD and Hydrographic data sets collected during WOCE, CLIVAR, and other oceanographic research programs.
- ICOADS
The International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set provides a benchmark collection of marine climate observations from ships and buoys. Release 2.2 contains observations and statistics for the period 1784-2004.
- OASIS
OASIS is a community working to harmonize observational strategies and develop a practical, integrated approach to observing air-sea interactions through capacity development, leveraging of multi-disciplinary activities, and advancement of understanding.
- OceanSITES
OceanSITES is a worldwide system of long-term, deepwater reference stations measuring dozens of variables and monitoring the full depth of the ocean from air-sea interactions down to 5,000 meters.
